How to use the Steampod 3.0
Not sure where to start? Read the below top tips and tricks from Celebrity Hair Stylist Neil Moodie on how to create a flawless Steampod 3.0 styled look.
How to minimise frizz when using a heat tool
Always blow dry the hair first in a downward motion if possible, this will keep the cuticles of the hair flat. Using a comb when straightening with the Steampod 3.0 will help to smooth the hair as it goes through. Even better, there is a comb built in to the Steampod 3.0 so no worries if you forget yours.
How to avoid the iron mark line in the hair
To avoid an annoying mark line in your perfectly smoothed hair, ensure that your hair is fully dry before styling. Use a gradual yet continuous movement when passing the tool through the hair and try not to close the tool too tightly onto your section of hair; you want it to glide through the hair rather than pull. Iron marks appear when the hair is clamped too tight and the tool gets
stuck in one area.
How do I make the result super shiny?
Prepping hair with the right products is key to create shine. You are applying heat to the hair therefore it needs something to maintain the moisture and protect the hair from heat damage. Apply a heat protecting formula such as the L’Oréal Professionnel Steampod Steam Activated Cream to keep your tresses glossy and damage free. Using the Steampod 3.0 will help with achieving a super shiny result with optimal hair fibre respect after use.
How many times should I pass the styling tool through the hair?
To avoid exposing the hair to too much heat, don’t pass the hair through the styler more than twice and make sure to keep it moving at all times (people often hold it for longer on the ends, this is the worst part of the hair to do that on). With the Steampod 3.0, even on the thickest hair only needed to pass through it once in order to get smooth and glossy results in half the time of a regular straightener.
How can I create different results with my straightening irons?
There are various different ways of rotating the Steampod 3.0 for different results: the classic straight, a wave, curl or to add body. The Steampod 3.0 is suitable for every hair type and almost every style. Follow the arrows on the side of the tool that indicate the direction of the steam for the best results.
How to straighten a fringe
Straightening a fringe can seem daunting as it sits right at the front of your face, meaning any mistakes are more noticeable. To ensure a smooth style, section your fringe off into 2 to 4 sections, depending on the thickness of your fringe and hair. Begin with the underneath section nearest your hairline and place the hair inside the Steampod 3.0 with the plates near the roots. Gently close and pass the Steampod 3.0 through your hair to the ends, remembering to bend your wrist slightly inwards as you pass through to the ends to avoid a poker straight finish that sticks outwards instead contouring to the face. Repeat the same technique on the other sections, finishing on the top section of hair. When finished, comb or brush though to blend the sections together
