We caught up with Balance Me's Head Facialist Mandy, to address certain skin concerns so you can achieve your healthiest complexion yet heading into autumn.

Mandy developed Balance Me's Signature Facial and works to give customers glowing skin each and every day. She understands the ins and outs of everyday stresses on our skin and tailors her advice to suit your lifestyle.

Dry Skin

Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.

Dry skin is genetic and is skin that is deficient in oils or lipids. It can look flaky and matte. Dehydrated skin is water and hyaluronic acid deficient, it’s a very common skin concern and it appears flat and dull.

Dry or dehydrated skin needs regular exfoliation followed by products that deeply moisturise. Two products we recommend are Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm and Radiance Face OilCleanse and Smooth Face Balm is an oil based cleanser that contains fine oat powder to gently remove dead, dull skin plus a trio of butters to deeply moisturise the skin. Radiance Face Oil is rich in essential fatty acids and contains Amazonian Buruti-Oil to hydrate skin

As a final tip, regularly spritz with Skin Bright Toning Mist for an instant refresh.

Mature Skin

Ageing and tends to be more apparent around our eyes.

Loss of elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles are the result of a breakdown in collagen and elastin. This is a natural part of ageing and tends to be more apparent around our eyes where we are most expressive.

Apply your moistuirser to get your circulation pumping. This will also help firm skin! I’m using Collagen Boost Restore and Replenish Face Cream. It contains an innovative Pea Peptide, which ‘tricks’ skin into producing more collagen.

Finish with a pea-sized portion of Wonder Eye Cream, by gently tapping onto skin.

Oily Skin

Be consistent but gentle in your routine.

Acne, blocked pores and congestion can occur at any age and those with oily skin types can often choose products that reduce shine but actually strip the skin. This results in the skin overcompensating with more sebum, or causing dehydration.

The ingredient Spruce Knot, found in our Pure Skin Face Wash and Congested Skin Serum contains Vitamin E. This creates a protective barrier over the skin! Congested Skin Serum can be applied all over the face, or as a targeted treatment to calm any blemishes. The ingredient Kanuka is anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory, to balance skin without stripping it.

Avoid harsh products that aggressively dry-out skin. Keeping Balance is key.

Pigmented Skin

Protecting from UV is extremely important when combating pigmentation.

The hormone melanin is responsible for pigmentation distribution. This can be hormonally or UV induced.

Daily use of our Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm helps to fade pigmentation spots due to the oat powder. Follow by cleansing with our Anti-Ageing Serum, which contains Bidens Pilosa. This is a plant extract whose retinoid effect will also help address pigmentation. You can apply this after moisturiser.

Protecting from UV is extremely important when combating pigmentation. Our Natural Protection Moisturiser SPF25, with Titanium Dioxide acts as a physical barrier against further UV induced pigmentation, and not like Zinc Oxide that whitens the skin.
