Especially now that spas are closed still in many areas across the UK, a weekly at home facial is a must! Especially in the winter when skin is more prone to dryness, dedicate some 'me time' to take care of your complexion and your wellbeing using this easy facial routine that will give salon-worthy results without having to leave the house.

Step 1: Cleanse

The first and arguably the most important step in any skincare routine; cleansing. Cleansing removes all dirt, build-up and dead skin from your complexion, prevent pores from becoming blocked and paving the way for other products in your routine to work effectively. The Chantecaille Rose De Mai Cleansing Balm is a gentle and luxurious cleanser that will leave you feeling pampered and your skin fresh. The cleanser glides across your complexion, lifting away dirt, makeup and excess oil and nourishing the skin with anti-oxidant rich Rosehip and Tamnu Oils which restore moisture and balance. The Phytic Acid in the cleanser offers exfoliation without any irritation to clear the pores and allowing the hydrating Hyaluronic Acid to penetrate deep into the skin to plump and revive your face.

Step 2: Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a pain-free, non-invasive exfoliation method that gently exfoliates the top layers of the skin, removing dead skin cells and build up to reveal the fresher, brighter looking skin beneath it. The technique helps to improve skin tone and texture and works to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Removing this top layer of dead skin, helps other skincare products be absorbed easier, allowing the ingredients to get deeper into your skin.

The HoMedics Radiance Microdermabrasion is a gentle device that creates a vacum-like massage on the skin to stimulate cell renewal and exfoliate. To use, place the diamond tip flat against your skin, then move it slowly across the surface of your face no more than 2-3 times. Don't press hard on the skin, the device is designed to offer the optimum force needed for the best results.

Step 3: Cleanse

After you have exfoliated, it's important to cleanse again to make sure any loosened and remaining dead skin is removed from the skins surface before moving on to the next step. Use a gentle cleanser such as the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish that won't irritate the fresh layer of skin that you have just revealed.

Step 4: Mask

An essential step in any skincare and self-care routine; face mask. The Ecooking Clay Mask is a Vegan blend of Salicylic Acid, Vitamin A and Iris Extract that hydrates, soothes and balances the complexion. The purifying formula helps to control excess sebum production to prevent oily skin and helps to support against external aggressors to keep the complexion clear and healthy. Apply the mask to your face using your fingers or a brush, avoiding the eye area. Leave the mask on until it has completely dried before rinsing off with warm water.

Step 5: Tone

Once you have removed your mask, tone your face to close the pores and completely refine the complexion before adding your moisturiser. An effective toner helps to draw out any stubborn impurities and preps the skin for the rest of your routine. Make sure to chose a toner that's right for your skin type for the best results; the Caudalie Vinopure Clear Skin Purifying Toner is a gentle formula, blended with Salicylic Acid that helps to reduce breakouts and keep skin clear.

Step 6: Moisturise

Top up your skins moisture levels and balance your skins natural micro-biome using the Aurelia Probiotic Skincare The Probiotic Concentrate. The Concentrate uses BioOrganic ingredients to help support the skin, also helping to reduce the signs of ageing, protect against pollution and UV rays and brighten the complexion. Skin will be left feeling soothed and moisturised, the perfect addition to your at-home facial.

Step 7: Eyes

Not forgetting about the eyes, finish your at-home facial with this Nutri-Define Supreme Eye Contour Balm by Jurlique. Equipped with a metal ball spatula that gently glides across the delicate skin under the eye, working in the Balm and reducing puffiness and dark circles. The nourishing formula helps to firm and brighten the skin, diminishing dark circles and wrinkles (not to mention it feels super relaxing!).
