To celebrate International Women’s Day, we are celebrating what makes us women unique, beautiful and brilliant, aka every single thing about us (dare we say it).
The rise of Instagram filters has led to a reality of un-realities; responsible for feelings of negative body images and a lack of body confidence. It’s a huge shame considering that Instagram was initially created to share “instant” imagery of ourselves, rather than something that has been put through a selection of filters and changes.
Filter or no filter, makeup or no makeup, we’re all beautiful, and it’s about time we all started realising that.
It’s a fact that we’re stronger when working together, which is why we teamed up with the incredible women in lookfantastic HQ to discover what it is that makes them feel more body confident and ready to take on the world. Interested in their advice? Discover more below.

Although it’s not always about how you look, when I’m really down about my body I always think a little at-home spa session helps! A face mask, hair mask, body scrub and a small bit of grad tan always gets me glowing again! Also, Chessie King is a really good Instagram gal… She does lots of fitness content, but also lots of body confidence pieces to remind everyone that we all have different bodies and shapes. There is no normal!

I feel body confident when I’m wearing an outfit I love! If I’m wearing something I don’t like, or something I don’t think flatters me, I feel really self-conscious. I think finding your style and clothes that work for your shape are key to being body confident!

I always feel more confident after using gradual tan for a natural glow! My current favourites are St Tropez Sculpt and Glow, and the Balance Me Gradual Tanning Drops

I started finding influencers who have similar body shapes to mine, seeing them embracing their shape and seeing them look amazing makes you feel more positive about your body rather than chasing an impossible idea of perfect

I love to put on the happiest and most upbeat song I know and have a dance around the house. I can imagine I look ridiculous to the neighbours, but I just don’t care! It’s the best way to forget about worries and the pressures of daily life

I take 10 minutes each day to focus on caring for my body and appreciate just what it does for me
