What is Prickly Pear Seed Oil?

2015 has seen a whole host of beauty oils step into the limelight, but distinguishing which ones actually work beyond their hype can be tricky.

Prickly Pear Seed Oil is also commonly known as Cactus Seed Oil. While this may not be as luxurious sounding as something like “argan oil”, it actually contains far more vitamins and antioxidants; making it a superhero ingredient to have in any product!

Prickly Pear Seed Oil contains a large amount of Linoleic acid which supports the overall health of the hair cuticle; helping to add essential moisture to the scalp which prevents hair fibres from splitting and breaking. As a result, hair regains its elasticity; adding volume and bounce!

It also contains a huge amount of Vitamin E. While dermatologists sing Vitamin E’s praises, it is also exceptionally important for healthy hair. It promotes lustre and shine, whilst also encouraging healthy capillaries, which improves the blood circulation to the scalp; thereby promoting stronger hair.

Last, but certainly not least, Prickly Pear Seed Oil is rich in Omegas’ 6 and 9, Amino acids and flavonoids. Amino acids promote healthy hair growth – one of the proteins which make up the amino acids’ is Keratin, which makes up around 88% of each hair fibre on your body; making amino acids’ extremely important to improving the overall health of your hair! Flavonoids stimulate hair growth, while Omegas’ 6 and 9 minimise water loss from the hair follicle; helping it to stay moisturised and free from dehydration.
