If you are getting into the Tour de France, and want to take up cycling to get fit and have fun, then we have selected the best places to go bike riding in the U.K. to make it easy for you.

Cycling is a great form of exercise, is something you can do with your entire family, and is a brilliant way of getting some fresh air and enjoying the outdoors. There are plenty of places up and down the country where you can not only cycle in safety, but in some of the prettiest locations too.

3 Of Our Favourite Places To Go Bike Riding

From the North to the South of England, there is something for everyone. Whether you're a cycling newbie, or a serious fanatic, there are plenty of places to go bike riding up and down the country that you will fall in love with. We have selected our favourite 3, which make for gorgeous cycling conditions.

Forest Of Dean, Gloucestershire

If you are after a fairy-tale setting with an abundance of bluebells, then this is the cycling destination for you. With 11 miles of biking terrain, it has a mixture of both moderate and advanced routes suitable for cyclists with a little more experience. The landscape is quite hilly so be prepared to cycle hard, but when you're finished, there are plenty of quaint little country pubs you can reward yourself with.

Snowdonia, Wales

If you are after spectacular views and clean country air, then head to Snowdonia National Park. The more Southerly you go, the less busy it tends to be, so head over to Cadair Idris for quiet cycling terrains and beautiful views. However, there are plenty of routes all over that are suitable for all abilities, including children and cycling newcomers. There is also lots of accommodation which will let you store your bike safely overnight, so you can have a worry-free stay.

The Chilterns, Hertfordshire

With gorgeous forests and picture-worthy terrain, The Chilterns are a great place to cycle if you are looking for an easy but lovely adventure. There are plenty of little lanes and wooded areas for you to enjoy without overdoing it, making it an ideal cycling location for families. We absolutely love the selection of country pubs in the area, meaning you can spend the day in unspoiled countryside, come back and spoil yourself with the most gorgeous food.
