When it comes to tackling summer head on, there are some rules that just need to be followed. We are answering your 5 most burning summer questions to help keep you looking and feeling your best, in that warm summer sun.

How to Get Glowing Summer Skin

A naturally radiant and healthy complexion is at the top of any beauties summer wishlist. Yet, glowing summer skin isn't always guaranteed unless you follow our 5 golden rules...

  • Always wear sunscreen - Nothing says healthy and glowing skin quite like a protected complexion. No matter what face base you like to use, sunscreen should always be your number one step. The La-Roche Posay Anthelios Invisible Mist is perfect as it's completely dry and can be used both under and over makeup to keep your protection topped up throughout the day. Make sure you also keep your body protected to ensure it stays gorgeous and glowing too. Both the Vichy Soleil Hydrating Mist and Shiseido Wet Force Lotion are great options that keep your skin well shielded from UV damage.
  • Choose lightweight and hydrating products - The combination of suncream, moisturisers and makeup can leave your pores clogged and your skin breaking out, so instead opt for lightweight products that can be layered. Vichy's Mineral 89 is the perfect option to use as your hydrating base, as it only contains 11 gentle ingredients to put the moisture back into parched complexions.
  • Opt for Lightweight Makeup -  EX1's Mineral Powder Foundation is a great daytime holiday face base. It's free from talc, oil and fragrance and gives a beautiful and even glow to your skin; perfect for lazy summer days.

How to Remove Fake Tan From Feet

Having that tell-tale fake tan streak on your feet is one of the worst tanning faux-pas you can make. In those hard to reach areas, you can fail to get into all the nooks and crannies, which leaves behind stripes even tigers would be jealous of.

While you think it may be the best idea to run over your feet with more fake tan, you couldn't be more wrong. Adding product on will only cause build-up and pilling and will make the tan fade patchy and uneven. Instead, remove it and try again.

Firstly, make sure you exfoliate with a good scrub. The Bliss Hot Salt Scrub not only makes you feel like you're in a spa, but only contains Dead Sea Salt to buff away any remaining tan you don't want left on your skin.

Before applying anymore fake tan, make sure you apply a moisturiser and let it sink in so that your skin is soft and smooth and ready for your next application. The St. Tropez Tan Optimiser Moisturiser contains hydrating ingredients to help combat any dehydrated areas and leave it ready for your self-tan.

What Makeup Primer is Good For Oily Skin?

When it comes to keeping a flawless complexion in the summer heat, a makeup primer is your beauty best friend. Whether you think they're necessary items or not, in the summer, they're completely essential.

To combine SPF and makeup, Ultrasun's 30 SPF Tinted  Moisturiser combines a non-oily and lightweight cream with a hint of colour to keep your face flawless, gorgeous and protected.

If you suffer from extremely oily skin, and need something that will control and minimise the excess oil, try MAC's Prep and Prime Skin Refined Zone. It will help control shine and leave your complexion looking flawless all day long. Don't forget to top up with an SPF though!

What to use to Prolong a Tan

When it comes to keeping a tan looking bronzed and gorgeous for as long as possible, it's all in the preparation and upkeep.

Proper exfoliation and moisturisation helps to prolong a tan and keep it looking lovely for longer. St. Tropez has their Tan Optimiser range, which contains a Body Polish and a Moisturiser to help buff away dead skin cells, and then hydrate the skin for overall smoothness and softness. By following these steps, your skin will be properly prepped for the tan to be massaged in for a flawless finish, otherwise it could end up streaky and uneven.

To help keep your tan looking as good as on day one, make sure you keep your skin hydrated throughout. Warm water and environmental aggressors can dry out your skin and cause the tan to flake, so use a super hydrating body lotion, such as the Jurlique Rose Moisturiser. It smells simply divine too.

How to Prevent Frizzy Hair

While everyone loves the summer and the gorgeous warmer weather, the increase in heat can cause intense frizz in many a person's hair. Combatting this is simple with the use of smoothing and conditioning products and our ambassador's, Lydia Elise Millen, favourite Steampod Straightener.

The Wella Fusion collection has been designed to smooth and nourish dry and damaged hair, to keep frizzy fibres locked down and under control. There is a shampoo, conditioner and mask to help complete your summer haircare routine and prevent that dreaded uncontrollable mane of hair.

Alternatively, if you have totally unmanageable locks that need a boost of extra control, try Paul Mitchell's Smoothing range, which contains both cleansing and styling products to make sure your frizz stays firmly un-frizzy. Our favourite product in the collection is the Super Skinny Serum, which can be used just before drying your hair to keep it smooth in the styling process.

Once you have dried your hair, finish with the Grow Gorgeous Strengthening Oil, which not only helps to shield your hair against environmental aggressors, but also helps to add in a final shine and smoothing finish for a gorgeous and healthy look.

Follow with L'Oréal's Steampod, which uses steam technology to smooth down locks and keep them manageable all day long.
