Jules Heptonstall is St. Tropez’s Tanning Ambassador, so if there is anything he doesn’t know about fake tan, then it isn’t worth knowing! He has given us his top tanning secrets to share with you so you can be sure of a gorgeous looking glow for those New Year parties!
To achieve the perfect tan…. exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate! Make sure you buff away any dead skin cells and areas of dry skin so that the tan applies evenly and leaves a smooth finish.
Go easy on the moisturiser…. Applying moisturiser to areas which can show signs of dryness such as elbows and knees is essential, but leave out any areas which are already smooth – this will help the tan absorb much more easily and effectively.
When tanning your face…. Make sure to wash your face with cold water prior to applying tan so that your pores close and you don’t clog them with excess product – this will help keep your complexion clear and glowing!
Clean your fingers… After applying fake-tan, make sure to clean your fingernails completely to prevent the colour from staining them.
Finally…the top tanning secret… Apply one coat of fake-tan to your body and face and follow up with a second coat on your inner thighs, calves and under your jawline to achieve the illusion of contour without applying all that bronzing powder!
