Have tried better

I'd say the cheaper and more readily available 'Grow stronger' base coat from Essie is better than this. This gave a really weird mottled effect to my nail varnish but evidently this is just me! It dried slightly tacky too. The positive is that it really does fill in the gaps and make nails look super smooth. Just a shame it didn't seem to sit all that well with my other nail varnish.

Work well as a basecoat

This Essie Fill The Gap - Ridge Smoothing Base Coat works really well as a base coat! Most nail polishes only need one layer with this as a base plus it make sure ones nails don't go yellow and brittle while wearing the polish. It makes your nail polish look really smooth!

Perfect Nails

My Daughter's nails are far from aging but they are deeply ridged due to damage to the cuticle and surrounding skin from years of eczema. She is very self conscious and embarrassed by this. This filler smooths out the deepest of ridges effortlessly and leaves a smooth healthy looking nail without polish and a fabulous finish with polish. Another amazing product from Essie.

Great base coat

This Essie base coat works well with other Essie nail polishes. I wouldn't wear alone since it appears to be slightly rough looking for my taste, but this base coat is great with other Essie nail polishes and I would definitely buy this one again.
