I like the glycolic acid but beware azelaic acid does burn

So I really do like the glycolic acid toner. I can see the impurities coming off when used with a cotton pad. I did use the azelaic acid but my god it did a lot to my face but apparently it is supposed to happen? Anyways for a few weeks it did leave dark patches on my skin also with dryness so I’ve stopped using it.
